Missouri

Doesn't seem like there is much excitement to report today. We didn't even take many pictures. We packed up this morning and headed out. We played at a couple of rest areas. We had fast food for lunch because it was raining. We entered Missouri this morning about an hour or so into our day. The terrain is hilly now, with real trees again and much greener. Still a lot of corn and soybean fields. We had to find out whether we could put ethanol in Big Red because it is everywhere here and significantly cheaper. We did, and our gas mileage stayed about the same! We hung a left at Kansas City and are spending the night in New Florence along Rt 70. We found a pool and went for our nightly swim. At first, I don't think we really knew what to do in the water, but now that we are becoming regulars at the pool, we are having more fun with it. Isaac tries to run around the pool and get away from us, and we have to follow him closely for fear he will just try to jump in. I enjoyed our simple dinner in our room of sandwiches and assorted food out of the cooler, even if DH was not crazy about it. Everyone is a little cranky and low energy today, except Ron, who felt great. Tomorrow we have about 200 miles to get to Grandma Bessie and take a few days to rest. Current game plan is to stay in Cape Girardeau until Saturday morning, then take 4 days to get to Malone. We will spend several hours to the better part of a day in Buffalo as part of that leg. We will go through Canton on our way to Malone, so we may have to linger a bit now that we know it will be home.

And darn the timing, I don't live in Kansas City anymore, so I missed you again. One day we will catch each other, and now that you like to swim, and I live on the ocean...
