Six weeks in Canton
Finally have all of our recent pics up on Flickr (use the link on the right). They include pics of every campsite and every playground from our cross country trip, just in case you wanted to know. Also, some of what we have been up to since we arrived in New York.
We had a very busy weekend here in Canton. Both colleges had their parents' weekends, there was an arts fair and music downtown and the a Harvest festival at the Cooperative Extension. We started at the SUNY Canton campus, where Isaac tried to climb in to all of the classic cars on display. Wandered through the arts festival downtown, which I really enjoyed. Then we went to the Harvest Festival - we were tired by then, so all we did was to paint pumpkins and take a ride through the cornfields on a cart pulled by horses. The kids really liked that.
Hey Alaska friends - today, October 1st, we played outside in t-shirts! The weather is finally bearable instead of being too hot and humid. We are taking full advantage, hesitant to start any of the indoor or winter activities while we can still be comfortably outside. We are all finally starting to feel settled. Ron is getting a better sense of how long his responsibilities will take and when he can relax a bit. The kids are waking up less in the night because they know where they are and we are getting to know our way around and getting through all the various moving chores (new insurance, registering the car, getting established with doctors, etc.). We went to the library story hour this week, and will do that again.
Looking forward to a long weekend coming up, and the chance for Ron to learn all about our typcial weekday activities!
