A Birthday Boy turns 2!
We had a fun weekend of birthday celebration! Isaac turned two on Saturday. My mom came for a quick visit to celebrate with us. We made him a train cake:
And here he is with technicolor icing
Much neater than last year! :) Isaac got a lot of Thomas the Tank Engine stuff for his birthday, train sets, videos, a covered bridge. He is a little train-crazy right now. Elyse also had her second gymnastics class this weekend, and is feeling more comfortable with the setup. Turns out the library has a story hour for 2-year olds at the same time as gymnastics, so we will take turns getting alone time with each child. That will be fun. Ron had last week off - Canton does a winter break AND a spring break. He had fun being at home and getting a chance to be a little lazy. Unfortunately, our two schools do not have breaks at the same time - so there is no chance for travel until May. But, I was able to get more sleep after my late night shifts last week!!
We've been ice skating about once a week. Yesterday, Elyse skated some without holding on to anything! Isaac is managing to stay on his feet a little bit more, but mostly likes us to hold him up. We found a fun sledding hill too, Elyse really liked going fast! Even with all of the winter fun, I am starting to look forward to spring and being outside more.
