Cold weather and winter fun

So, we painted some valentines the other day, with the idea of sending them out to friends and family. But, Elyse decided she really wanted to give some to the fairies (the ones who live outside our house but we can never seem to see...). So we put a jar of homemade paper hearts out on the deck, in the snow. The fairies took some of the valentines and left chocolate kisses and fairy dust! :) Here is a sample of what was in the jar... (it's hard to capture the glitter, but it's there too)

Then, Elyse spent the entire evening conjecturing about the fairies ("How do they carry the kisses? Why did they give them to me? Do they want to be my friend? Do you think the other fairies don't like them because they are ugly?"). She wants to put the jar out again, but I told her we should wait until Valentines day.

We went ice skating again, and got pics this time! Here's one, see Flickr for others. Also, Elyse started gymnastics! She's not sure she likes it so far, but I think she will when she gets a little more used to the people and the routine.

Isaac is a little bit ga ga over Thomas the Tank Engine right now. We got a library book and Ron showed him the Thomas website, so now he knows Thomas and the other engines too. He gets very upset when it is time to take a break from Thomas.

Ron has tests to give in every class this week, including lab practicals. He's got a lot happening, and will have to set the lab practicals either very late or very early because there are classes happening in the same room. But then he has next week off.

I just posted a bunch of new pictures too, so check them out.
