6 weeks old!

We had Isaac in to the doctor today, he reacted poorly to getting formula for the first time this week as I started back to work. We got tested for allergies, but are fairly sure that he is lactose intolerant. What that means for now is that I have to eliminate all dairy products from my diet and see what happens. Just when Ron has been able to start eating dairy again, I can't!

Isaac also got a general checkup. He is 12 lb 12 oz and 23.5 inches long. Right up there in the 90th percentile. And he slept for 7 hours straight last night! He is becoming more alert and staying awake for longer periods during the day. We all try to make him smile at us, including Elyse. She get very excited when he makes faces at her.

Elyse has playgroup on Wednesdays that she really enjoys going to. Ron took her today, for sliding and reading and playing with other kids. The snow is melting and the daytime temps are above freezing, so soon we will be able to have Isaac out for longer periods and will at least get out for walks. Days are getting really long - it is light by 5am and after 9pm. We are excited for warmer days ahead.

I am not very excited to be back at work, I really enjoyed my time to just be a mom. I will work part-time until mid-June to buy Ron as much time as possible to get his work done. So we will be doing quite the juggling act over the next few months, but it should give Isaac a little extra time to develop a regular routine.

great pics!! oh no, no dairy!!! michelle was lactose-intolerant, too... can't remember when she grew out of it, but hopefully isaac will soon. how's ron's phd work going? i'm (really) checking out the graduate & certificate programs at RISD; we were there this past weekend, & i was impressed, motivated & psyched, so, we'll see...

also, i'll be closing down the tavernsinger flickr page, & transferring some of the family photos to the akimba page in the near future... it'll be easier to manage just one flickr page, since i want to set up a webpage soon, and maybe even a blog...

hope you're all well! how've the temps been? have you gotten out much??
